4th July - Independence Day for Some, Reflection time for this project

The challenge for this project is “getting things to add up�. It is relatively easy to produce measurements. We measure lots of things and can group them into the four quadrants of the balanced scorecard, but what does it mean?

The hard part has been finding a way to measure the influence these measures have on each other. Where this has lead me is to reading books on statistics. The thing I remember about doing statistics at College was that I wanted to do the bare minimum to pass the exam and move on to something I liked. Years later here I am back reading about standard deviation, correlation and multi-regression analysis. It is also making we look back into the world of System Dynamics and “influence� diagrams.

Therefore before I do much more work on the actual numbers and graphs, etc the work in front of me is to solve the conundrum of making the connections between the measures to get them to add up.

If anyone can provide any hints here or books I should read I would appreciate the help,
