Eight factors in creating passion
Passion is usually a pretty desirable thing in employees and especially also in leaders (with the usual qualification of passion for the right thing).
I came across a neat paper recently from the Blanchard stable.
http://www.kenblanchard.com/img/pub/employee_passion.pdf
Based on solid research it identifies eight Employee Passion factors as follows: Meaningful Work, Autonomy, Connectedness with Colleagues, Connectedness with Leader, Collaboration, Recognition, Fairness, and Growth.

Very worthwhile
David great find and thank you so much for sharing. I have just distributed this to my management team. I would certainly consider adopting the concepts within my organisation. Â

Passion = Retention?
These square directly with what we see in our annual employee poll. The factors that correlate most highly with retention include Meaningful Work, Connectedness with Leader (Immediate Manager makes good use of my skills/values me); Collaboration, Recognition, and Career Growth.Â
Thanks for sharing.
employee recognition = retention
I agree with it.. probably we are implementing the same in our organization. Having said that, we need to show them a clear path towards where they are going to be in the next three years and also help them achieve their goals. This will help them towards free radical thinking and a willingness to work towards enterprise goals and also towards a prospectus career. This way both the employee and the employer find a win-win situation.. Thanks for sharing.
