On how to be happy! (If, once you press 'play', the word 'buffering' appears bottom left and it's taking too long for you, you can download the powerpoint file and play it on your own PC by clicking on the red link at the bottom of the screen that has the name of the presentation and .pps and "3.5mb" in black next to it).

Leadership Lessons learnt from my Mother

Submitted by Anonymous on November 6, 2007 - 9:49am.

I lost my mother a few months ago. I was shattered.

I thought the best way to pay her a tribute is to list out the profound lessons she had taught me.

Hope you like it.

Things I am learning from life...

Taking it as it happens

Submitted by mpvmd on October 29, 2007 - 9:24pm.

Here's a German proverb that I like (translated, of course)

"you have to take it as it happens, but you should try to make it happen the way you want to take it"

That's posted over my desk where I see it at least 10 times a day. It sums up my desire to be a "do-er" not a "done to-er"  - and my belief that you can influence almost any situation, if only by changing the way you react to what life throws at you. Something as simple as listening and asking questions showing genuine interest can change the way "it" happens.

World's Top 30 Leadership GurusThanks for your vote...
If you voted in the World Leadership Gurus Top 30, the Hub's founder, Phil Dourado, came 14th this year (2012), up three places from 17th last year. The organisers say it is "because of the originality and impact of your work" that Phil was put in the Top 30 in the first place. And that means this Hub and the award-winning corporate versions we run for large companies. For more on how a private corporate version of The Hub works, email: phildourado@theleadershiphub.com
