About group

Too many books on leadership for one person to read. So don't. Split the reading among the community. Share brains. Compare notes.

NB JOIN THIS GROUP IF YOU WANT TO SEE ALL THE BOOKS IN IT. IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF THIS GROUP, YOU ARE ONLY VIEWING A FEW OF THE ENTRIES. CLICK ON 'JOIN GROUP' (ABOVE) AND SUDDENLY THE REST OF THEM APPEAR, AS IF BY MAGIC...

What are you reading? What's your favourite leadership book or book that has a key leadership lesson in it? Share it here.

There are just too many books out there on leadership for each of us to get through them all. BUT, leaders should read more. So, share the reading with your Hub colleagues. Share notes and insights. Read your fellow Book Club members' notes on the best bits they have read and contribute your own.

As with all Groups in The Hub, if you find your fellow members' contributions interesting, then pay back by contributing your own notes on a book. There's a guide to how to do it below if that helps.

HOW TO USE THE BOOK CLUB (You might want to copy and paste this into a Word doc. and flick between it and the form mentioned below)

1. Click on the headlines to read a particular book entry.

2. To contribute your own:

- Click on 'contribute' link. In the form that appears then:

- Put in the title and author in 'title' or 'headline' area

- Put the author's name and the word 'Book' in the 'Hub Tag Cloud' area of the form. This helps catalogue contributions so other users can find them.

- Body: Write your own notes and thoughts on the book in this area of the form. If you turn down corners and mark the best bits with a pencil when you read a book, pick a couple of those bits and put them in as extracts. Use the other book entries in the Book Club as a guide to the kind of length you should contribute.

- Upload book cover picture (OPTIONAL. THIS IS A BIT TIME-CONSUMING, SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BOTHER FOR NOW, I'LL DO IT FOR YOU ONCE I'VE SEEN THAT YOU HAVE POSTED A BOOK REVIEW...TILL YOU GET MORE COMFORTABLE DOING STUFF LIKE THIS IN THE HUB YOURSELF. PHIL DOURADO):

Open another browser link. Go onto Amazon and find the book.

Right click on the book cover and save it into your computer

Click on 'file attachment' which you will find in the form you are filling in (scroll down a bit to find it)

click on 'browse' to find the picture in your PC

Click 'attach' once you have found the image in your PC

Once the pic. has uploaded, a small URL will appear under the upload and attach box

Copy that code (highlight, right-click, copy)

Move back up the form to the Body area.

Click on the picture of a tree in the formatting options (second line of options, first icon)

Paste the URL that you copied into the URL area of the little box that appears

Set the picture to appear in the right of the screen.

Click on upload or attach (I've forgotten which!) - the button bottom left of the small screen

The pic. should appear in the Body text.

Click on Submit at the bottom of the form (or on Preview first, if you want to check).

You're done. The system doesn't automatically take you back into The Book Club, so you have to click on My Page again and click back into the Book Club from your page to check your book report has posted OK :-) (We'll improve that).
