Attitude - Words of Wisdom

Submitted by Kate on September 6, 2007 - 12:51pm.

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.

“Sex, Leadership and Rock’n’Roll – Can life be that simple?”

“Not really. You need to know why you’re doing what you do as well.”

“So, does Leadership benefit from an MBA?”

“Yes, but no. You need attitude and soul as well …”

“So, is the secret of leadership not only technique but also attitude?”

“Er, definitely maybe …”

Future fears, Present chances

Submitted by ZenMaster on July 29, 2007 - 9:49am.

If our minds are taken up with fears and hopes about the future,

we shall miss the chances that the present offers us.

Much of a leader's time is spent trying to create a future that people will want to move towards (vision and strategy).

Do not forget to dwell and act in the present (execution).

World's Top 30 Leadership GurusThanks for your vote...
If you voted in the World Leadership Gurus Top 30, the Hub's founder, Phil Dourado, came 14th this year (2012), up three places from 17th last year. The organisers say it is "because of the originality and impact of your work" that Phil was put in the Top 30 in the first place. And that means this Hub and the award-winning corporate versions we run for large companies. For more on how a private corporate version of The Hub works, email: phildourado@theleadershiphub.com
