The $100 Laptop

Nicholas Negroponte, the MIT Medialab guru, thinks the $100 laptop his team have been developing for distribution throughout poor parts of the world where people lack access to PCs and the internet, will be ready later this year. It's come in for some flak lately. But attempts at major change always do. This looks like to me to be an example of real global leadership in action. Whether it works or not is a different matter.
