- My background
I set up Mile One, an executive coaching, consultancy and leadership development practice two years ago, having previously being Global Head of Supply Chain and Logistics Development for The Body Shop.
I spent my final 18 months at The Body Shop getting some serious preparation in for my planned change to a portfolio career, including time with a brilliant outside coach and getting certified in things like Profilor 360, Myers-Briggs, NLP Practitioner. I also completed my advanced coach training at Ashridge which was excellent. Along the way I had the fortune to coach and mentor a number of colleagues as well as some managers in outside organsations, primarily NGOs, which gave me a great start - and have worked with some wonderful clients in these first two years of being an independent practitioner.
Before my fifteen years at The Body Shop, I held a number of roles in IT management, finance, training and sales - all within the PC industry.
I am a graduate in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, which is where I met Phil, the originator of The Leadership Hub.
I occasionally lecture at the business schools at Brighton, Cranfield and Warwick.
- Most embarrassing moment
I hit the gas-lift thingy on my chair when I arrived at my first meeting as a Trustee for The Body Shop Foundation. The chair shot up about about a foot in the presence of all these high-powered people including Anita Roddick. I could not get it to come back down and there was no other chair free. I am rather short and I stayed up there with my legs dangling for nearly an hour, feeling very conspicuous and about 6 years old.
My Hub experience

Media and business schools will ask me to contribute to their programmes, some of which may be published. I will have a great balance of different types of work, industries, countries and sizes of organisation to work with.
