Tom Peters and others point out that skills and attributes that are traditionally seen as 'women's' attributes - are more suited for today's kind of leadership in a networked world. Peters puts it this way:  "Women roar!"  This is the second of two clips to try and raise the profile a bit of all the women leaders who quietly go about their role, often without an official leadership title, without all the fanfare a lot of male leaders seem to expect :-) .

women as leaders clip

Thanks for posting this clip. I've seen lots of video about women and the success of microloan financed businesses, but I love that this little vignette is about these womens as LEADERS, which they so clearly are. These women are changing the economies of their villages, often their countries and have changed the conversation about poverty alleviation. Now, that's leadership!!

We must examine the concept of superior and subordinate with increasing skepticism. We must examine the concept of management and labor with new beliefs. And we must examine the nature of organizations that demand such distinctions with an entirely different consciousness. It is true leadership; leadership by everyone; leadership in, up, around, and down this world so badly needs, and dominator management it so sadly gets.
