What is Leadership?

What happens when you stop people on the street and ask them what leadership is? Martin Wells & Geoff Perry tried it in the UK. Here are the results. What's your answer to the question? You can use the 'add comment' link to help answer it.
"To lead people, walk beside them ... As for the best leaders, the people do not notice their existence. The next best, the people honor and praise. The next, the people fear; and the next, the people hate ... When the best leader's work is done the people say, 'We did it ourselves!'"

Fascinating
I thought it was amazingly wonderful to hear so many students talking about leadership the way they did. I also grieve that lecturers and administrators had eiher no view of a limited one. Who says the youth of today disappoint. This lot didn't.
Now lets do the same exercise with business people and see what we get.
